India's boxing sensation Mary Kom has bowed out of what would most likely be, her last Olympics. She was beaten in the Round of 16 by Colombia's Ingrit Valencia 3-2. Valencia is a bronze medalist from the 2016 Rio Olympics. It was a tight contest with both boxers matching each other punch-for-punch. Towards the end, Mary looked to be tiring. In the end, the split-decision went 3-2 in favour of Ingrit.

Punia defeated Kazakhstan’s Daulet Niyazbekov in his fight for BRONZE MEDAL. Punia won 8-0 and avenged his defeat at the hand of same wrestler in 2019 world championship finals.

She would have been the first Indian to win an Olympic medal in golf but it wasn't to be for the 23-year-old, finishing a remarkable fourth in Tokyo. Deepak Punia stormed into the semi-finals with two wins and was just two wins away from clinching a gold medal. However, in the semis, the Olympic debutant at just 22, ran into eventual gold medal winner David Taylor of USA.He led the bout against San Marino’s Myles Amine but lost the lead in the final ten seconds, giving away a takedown to lose the bronze medal match with barely any time left.

Nineteen-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary from India topped the 10m air pistol shooting qualifier at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He scored 586 out of 600 to raise hope for a gold medal. However, in the main round, Saurabh Chaudhary finished seventh in the men's 10m air pistol final at the Tokyo Olympics, disappointing one and all who pinned their hopes on the sharp shooter.

The South Korean, World No 1, had an occasional stutter or two, but Deepika could not make it count and surrendered 6-0, losing all three sets without much fight. She hit four 7s during the match and against a world-class archer that was too much to give away.
